Ponta Delgada’s Carnival Parade

For nearly two decades now, Ponta Delgada hosts the traditional Carnival Parade in which thousands of children and youngsters march in their own chosen outfits to celebrate Mardi Gras. This takes place in the historical center of Ponta Delgada.

There are generally 3.000 to 4.000 participants every year, who come from several schools and institutions in the council.
