RuaCanto Festival

This festival is an initiative of Ponta Delgada’s Town Hall, and takes place in Travessa do Arco, in the month of August. It is a part of the Summer Nights program.

“RuaCanto” is part of a project called Ruativa (Active Street) that has contributed to renewing, idea promoting, cultural initiatives, goods or services, through the occupation of places which are currently inactive in the urban area. This envelopment is temporary, and has as goal to bring life to the city and fill the empty spaces with a regenerating energy, which represents an entrepreneurial society.

The location of this festival was chosen having in consideration an area of the city that should be more active, through the reinforcement of its morphologic characteristics, which are an influence on its current paradigm.
