Luís Bettencourt

Born in Ponta Delgada, Luis Bettencourt de Medeiros e Câmara lived between 1873 and 1939. He was Governor of the city of Ponta Delgada, Municipal Administrator, President of the General Board, among other positions.

The bronze bust, sculpted by Álvaro Raposo de França (1940), is located in the street named after him.
