Monument to the Autonomy

Inaugurated on September 8, 1992, the Monument to the Autonomy symbolizes the constitutional autonomy of the Azores, as written in the Portuguese Constitution of April 2, 1976. On September 8, 1976, the First Regional Government of the Azores took office, presided over by João Bosco Mota Amaral.
