António Borges

António Borges da Câmara Medeiros was born in Ponta Delgada on June 14, 1812, and died on March 18, 1879.

He was Governor of the Azores district and an Azorean naturalist enthusiast, responsible for the creation of the botanical park of Ponta Delgada, today Jardim António Borges.

The sculptor was Numidico Bessone.
