Pico do Carvão Viewpoint

Located at Arrifes parish in Ponta Delgada, this belvedere offers a view over the mountains of the Sete Cidades Massif and the north and south sides of the island.

You can also see a vast extension of volcanic cones that extend from the municipality of Ponta Delgada to the municipality of Ribeira Grande,always with several lakes in the background. It is possible to see Pico da Vara, (the highest point on the island) the Volcano of Fogo, Serra Gorda and other places, as can be seen on the panel available at the viewpoint.

From this point the view is magnificent a privileged place to observe some ponds and the sea.
