Paragliding Festival

Organized in São Miguel, the Parapente Açores Paragliding Festival is one of the many events happening in the Azores. This particular event occurs mostly in the council of Ponta Delgada, and each edition has many invited professionals of this category. ‘Cross Country’ considers it to be one of the eight best paragliding festivals in Europe. The breathtaking aerial view one can witness during this event is truly unique and magical.

There are several spots, as well as takeoff and landing areas that are appealing for paragliding – it is already a known and loved place for paragliding lovers.

Despite being possible to paraglide all year long, the summer months are unquestionably the best to do so. There are several flights available: technical cross country flights passing by the volcanic craters of Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo and Furnas, and also by the wonderful beaches and cliffs along the coast.
